NEW YORK (WABC) — Rainy weather saturated the ground, causing several large trees to topple across the Tri-State area.
Neighbors on Union Street in Brownsville, Brooklyn, got a rude awakening on Sunday when a tree crash landed onto Aaron Williams’ family car. It happened shortly before 2 a.m.
“This vehicle can be replaced, life can’t,” he said.
No one was in the car or the street when the tree fell.
A huge tree fell on a house in Linden, New Jersey on Sunday morning, leaving the house uninhabitable.
The homeowner said it felt like an earthquake.
“The trunk fell on the house, tore up garage and back end,: said Robert Goldson.
The tree fell at 9:20 a.m. on Academy Terrace.
Authorities said everyone inside the home evacuated safely.
Also in New Jersey, a tree fell onto one of NJ Transit’s train lines, suspending service for a time Saturday evening. Service was restored Sunday morning.
Meantime, a massive tree fell in Central Park near 63rd Street and Central Park Drive, blocking the roadway on Saturday night.
In Brooklyn, another large tree came down onto several parked cars near 2045 Union St. in Brownsville, causing damage.

No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
