The Knicks’ trip to the NBA Finals for the first time since the 1900s is inspiring blue-and-orange celebrations all over New York City and now one of the city’s most beloved food institutions is getting in on the action.
Zabar’s, the iconic Upper West Side appetizing shop and gourmet market, is putting a Knicks spin on one of New York’s most classic desserts: the black-and-white cookie.

For a limited time, the store is selling special blue-and-orange versions of its famous oversized cookies to mark the Knicks’ historic run. The treats are the same black-and-white cookies generations of New Yorkers have grown up eating, but with the traditional chocolate-and-vanilla icing swapped out for the team’s signature colors.
The limited-edition cookies are sold in packs of six and come packaged in one of Zabar’s signature padded tote bags. The set costs $29.98 and is available both in-store at the Upper West Side institution and online for nationwide shipping. (The cookies are also certified kosher.)
The cookies are just another sign of how thoroughly the city has embraced the Knicks’ postseason success. Bars have been packed, watch parties have sprung up across the five boroughs and storefronts have been decked out in orange and blue as fans rally around the team’s deepest playoff run in decades. Not to mention the brawls that broke out after the Knicks lost Jon une 8.
And while championship merchandise can be expensive, a Knicks-themed cookie might be one of the more affordable ways to commemorate the moment.
Whether you’re hosting a game watch or looking for a sugar rush before tipoff, the cookies offer a sweet way to celebrate. They’re also a reminder that when New York sports teams make history, the city’s food scene is never far behind.
The limited-edition treats are available while supplies last at Zabar’s on Broadway at West 80th Street. For more information and to order a set online before Game 4 on June 10, click here.
