Lauren Bennett’s dad details weeks leading up to singer’s death at 36

LMFAO singer Lauren Bennett suffered a severe reaction to prescribed medication before her death, her father revealed on Wednesday.

Richard Bennett claimed the UK’s NHS failed to appropriately treat her for five months before her tragic death in May at the age of 36.

“Months before her death, Lauren experienced a severe reaction to a prescribed medication,” her father, Richard, said.

“As a family, we all rallied around her and did everything we could to support her. We have no suspicions regarding the circumstances of her death, only deep disappointment that, for five months, medical professionals and NHS services failed to treat her appropriately during her time of greatest need.”

It’s unclear what medication Lauren was taking. The California Post reached out to Richard for comment.

Richard says his daughter was “deeply loved” and “will be missed every day for the rest of our lives.”

“I hope she will be remembered for her remarkable achievements, her beautiful music, and the incredible person she was. Her legacy lives on through her daughter, her family, and through the music she leaves behind,” he added.

He said he first knew Lauren was talented from the young age of 12, when she began performing professionally.

“Watching her grow into the artist she became was one of the greatest joys of my life. Her achievements in the music industry were beyond our wildest dreams and continue to make me so proud,” he said.

The singer’s father asked for privacy and respect while the family is grieving.

An investigation into the 36-year-old’s passing was opened on June 12, TMZ reported on Tuesday.

Page Six confirmed the investigation is being led by Kent and Medway Coroner Service and is expected to proceed until an October 30 inquest. Bennett’s cause of death has yet to be revealed.

Her former group, G.R.L., revealed her passing in an Instagram statement on Monday “with great sadness.”

Paula van Oppen, Natasha Slayton and Emmalynn Estrada wrote, “Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter and countless memories she gave us.”

The group was together for two years before breaking up in the wake of member Simone Battle’s death by suicide at 25 in September 2014.

The surviving members of G.R.L. got back together in 2016 and continued to tour.

Bennett, along with her brother Ryan, formed BENNETT, a folk, country, blues and rock duo in 2017.

Originally from Meopham in Kent, England, Bennett leaves behind a six-year-old daughter — Harlow — whom she shares with dancer and Footloose actor Kenny Wormald.

Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger mourned Bennett in a comment on Instagram.

“Oh angel 😞😞😞💔💔💔🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🕊️🕊️🕊️,” she wrote about Bennett on Tuesday.

The late singer last took to Instagram in February to post a cover of Nancy Sinatra’s hit song, “These Boots Were Made for Walkin’”

Her top song, “Party Rock Anthem,” was released in 2011. The song spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached No. 1 in 20 different countries.
