JERSEY CITY (WABC) — Jersey City announced a day-long festival and free concert series before the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks over the Hudson River.
Mayor James Solomon and the City of Jersey City today announced details for the city’s Fourth of July celebration for America’s 250th birthday, featuring a day-long festival on Montgomery Street, a four-part free concert series across the city’s parks, and some of the best vantage points in the region to watch the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks.
The festivities are free for attendees thanks to event sponsors including Macy’s, the Exchange Place Alliance, Kean Jersey City, and the U.S. Army.
“None of this would be possible without the generosity of our sponsors,” said Mayor James Solomon. “Their support means every resident and visitor can enjoy a world-class celebration without it costing our taxpayers a dime. Jersey City was there at our nation’s founding, and we are proud to be America’s Golden Door – welcoming those who built our nation and providing a home where the next 250 years of our nation’s story can be written.”
