Flatbush, BROOKYLN (WABC) — Two people are dead and two others were injured after an apartment fire in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn on Friday morning.
The fire broke out just before 7 a.m. at a three-story building on Nostrand Avenue between Beverly Road and Cortelyou Road, according to the FDNY.
Officials said the fire started on the second floor of the building.
When firefighters arrived, they found two people dead at the scene. Two others were taken to area hospitals with injuries. One person suffered serious injuries, while the other’s injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
The FDNY said the fire was brought under control by 7:38 a.m.
The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
