A man was stabbed to death and another was injured during a massive brawl in the Bronx during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
According to police sources, the incident unfolded outside of an apartment building located at 2466 Marion Ave. in Fordham around 12:24 a.m. on May 20.
Sources familiar with the investigation said that two large groups had become engaged in a fight. The struggle ended with bloodshed after a 34-year-old man was stabbed in the torso and armpit and a 32-year-old man was knifed in the back.
Officers from the 46th Precinct received a 911 call reporting an assault in progress. When they arrived they found both men severely injured.
EMS rushed the 34-year-old victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he could not be saved and was pronounced dead. He has been identified as Luis Almanzar. Meanwhile, the 32-year-old man was taken to BronxCare Health System, where he is expected to survive.
A description of a suspect wasn’t immediately available.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
