A man was arrested Sunday morning for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend to death inside their Brooklyn apartment.
According to police sources, cops from the 83rd Precinct rushed to an apartment building near Cooper Street and Irving Avenue in Bushwick at around 8:47 a.m. after a 911 caller reported an assault in progress.
When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a 41-year-old woman lying on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds throughout her body. She was rushed by EMS to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition before ultimately succumbing to her wounds. Her identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Meanwhile, her 38-year-old boyfriend was taken into custody at the home and was questioned at the 83rd Precinct station house. He is expected to be charged later Sunday. A knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered.
The motive for the deadly stabbing was not immediately clear.
The investigation remains ongoing.
