RICHMOND HILL, Queens (WABC) — Police are searching for a suspect in a deadly stabbing in Queens that investigators now believe may be tied to a love triangle.
The attack happened inside an apartment on 86th Avenue in the Richmond Hill section around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Police say 41-year-old Miguel Perez was stabbed in the chest and later died from his injuries.
A 32-year-old woman was also slashed during the confrontation and taken to the hospital. She is expected to recover.
Sources familiar with the investigation say the violence appears to have grown out of a dispute involving a romantic relationship, though police have not released details about how the individuals were connected.
Neighbors reported a heavy police presence at the building following the stabbing as detectives worked to piece together what led up to the attack. No arrests have been announced, and investigators are continuing to look for the person responsible.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police as the investigation continues.
