A woman’s remains were found in the basement of a public housing building in Brooklyn on Sunday, NYPD officials said.
Officers responded to a 911 call for an unconscious person at the building on Bushwick Avenue near McKibbin Street in Williamsburg shortly after 9:30 a.m., according to the department.
They discovered the remains in the basement of the building, which is part of NYCHA’s Borinquen Plaza II complex.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
They did not release the woman’s identity or age as they worked to notify her family.
The city’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine her cause of death.
There have been no arrests yet in the case, according to officials.
