NEW YORK — The countdown to the end of 2025 is on, but not before everyone takes a look back at all that made the year special – including the good and the bad.
From trends many do not quite understand like “6-7,” to pop culture obsessions like Beyonce and K-Pop Demon Hunters, with celebrity trials like that of Sean “Diddy” Combs and love stories like the engagement of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce in between, 2025 was quite the year.
Robin Roberts is taking a look back at the most iconic and memorable moments on “The Year 2025.”
“The years go by so fast, and that’s how ‘The Year’ goes by, the program,” Roberts said. “It’s fast-paced.”
Roberts explained that the special balances “being real, because this was a year,” and “finding the light in it as well.”
The two-hour special brings audiences an expansive look at the moments that shaped 2025 through the stories that sparked conversation, captured global attention, and defined our cultural landscape.
“It’s a fun one for us to put together,” Roberts said.
Roberts is joined by an award-winning team of ABC News anchors, co-hosts and correspondents, including David Muir, Deborah Roberts, Michael Strahan, Linsey Davis, Juju Chang, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Will Reeve, Lara Spencer, Ginger Zee, Rebecca Jarvis and more. Together, they bring viewers network television’s most comprehensive and star-studded look at the biggest events, stories, celebrity and pop culture moments, trends and fads that left an indelible mark in 2025.
The special airs Monday, December 29 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC, and is streaming the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.
Disney is the parent company of this station.
