VALLEY STREAM, Long Island (WABC) — Firefighters battled a heavy house fire on Long Island overnight, leaving four residents displaced.
The Valley Stream Fire Department responded to reports of a house fire at 10:23 p.m. on West Euclid St.
Thick smoke and flames were seen pouring out of the second floor of the home.
The residents of the home self-evacuated.
The Valley Stream FD were assisted by neighboring departments, with about 100 firefighters responding to the scene.
They were able to bring the fire under control within an hour and 20 minutes.
No other injuries were reported.
The Red Cross has been requested to assist with housing.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
