MIDDLETOWN, New York (WABC) — The Tri-State area was blanketed with snow Tuesday. Some parts got just a coating while others, like in Orange County, were digging out.
“I woke up to this, so thank goodness I was off today so I could actually do my own driveway and my steps,” said Jody Santiago, a homeowner.

It wasn’t the storm of the century, but a few inches fell. It’s enough to impact travel.
Stella Page, a Middletown resident, was on her way to visit her mother after cleaning off her car.
“She works right down the road, I always drop her off food after. She said there were a few accidents on her road and it’s just been super slippery and everything,” Page said.
Side streets of course get cleared last, but major roads were in good shape by the afternoon.
It was more wet than white, with temperatures near freezing, trucks on the Thruway had plows up, while putting salt down.
In the suburbs, making sure parking lots are accessible is a main priority, keeping commercial plow operators busy.
“We’re very busy. Today we might have to work like 15 hours,” said Edgar Palma, a plow driver.
