The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 5:02 p.m. on Sunday for snow showers until 8 p.m. for Herkimer, Fulton and Montgomery counties.
“Occasional lake effect snow showers, some moderate at times, will persist across portions of the Mohawk Valley through 8 p.m. this evening. A quick 2 to 3 inches of snow accumulation is possible during this time, especially in southern Herkimer and Fulton counties. Motorists should expect reduced visibility and snow covered roadways through 8 p.m., especially across roadways in southern Herkimer and Fulton counties,” adds the weather service.
