NEW YORK (WABC) — The changing of the guard at City Hall on New Year’s Day will be celebrated with a giant block party – it was one of the details announced Sunday for Zohran Mamdani’s inauguration as mayor.
There will be the usual swearing-in ceremony at City Hall, but then, the event turns festive.
Music and performances will fill Broadway along the Canyon of Heroes.
Thousands of every day New Yorkers can register to attend by clicking HERE.
“This inauguration is a celebration of the movement we built, the mandate we won, and the city we are prepared to lead,” said Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani. “Working New Yorkers are at the heart of our agenda and we invite them to join us as we welcome this new era of politics to City Hall.”
The event is free to attend but space is limited.
