UNION SQUARE, Manhattan (WABC) — A first-time fashion show in Union Square featured and raised money for people with special needs.
It was a blast of confidence strutting down the runway.
More than a dozen models were part of the fashion show organized by CP Unlimited, a nonprofit organization that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
They partnered with Runway of Dreams and Badgley Mischka with the goal to celebrate, empower and spotlight self-expression.
“If I could bottle the feeling that I get when I watch them, and they sold that, I would spend my life savings on it. I feel like we’re finally at an age where we have enough support, enough resources, where the fundamental things are done and now it’s time for meaningful lives. Now it’s time for love,” Carrie Ann Trubenstein with CP Unlimited said.
The first-ever fashion show fundraiser raised $30,000 and limitless hope.
