Police: Man shot outside church while attending brother’s funeral in Harlem

HARLEM, Manhattan (WABC) — A man was shot outside a church in Harlem while police believe he was attending his brother’s funeral.

The 36-year-old was standing on West 140th Street across the street from New Mount Zion Baptist Church on Saturday around 9:30 a.m.

Police do not know who opened fire or if it was related to his brother’s death.

The victim is hospitalized in stable condition.

There was also an anti-violence event taking place down the street at the time of the shooting.
