NEW YORK (WABC) — Gas prices in the Tri-State area continue their daily increase due to the conflict in the Middle East.
The price of a regular gallon of gas shot up 19 cents, to $3.24, on the NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway, at 7 a.m. Friday. It was $3.05 on Wednesday and $3 on Monday.
AAA reports gas went up again overnight across the region, up another 6 cents in New York, 7 cents in New Jersey, 6 cents in Connecticut, and 7 cents nationally.
Gas is up 22 cents in New York over the last week, 29 cents in New Jersey and 26 cents in Connecticut, per AAA.
- In New York, the AAA average price of a gallon of regular gas is $3.22, up from $3.16 the day before and $3 last week.
- In New Jersey, the AAA average price of a gallon of regular is $3.20, up from $3.13 the day before and $2.91 last week.
- In Connecticut, the AAA average price of a gallon of regular gas is $3.17, up from $3.11 Thursday and $2.91 last week.
Experts offered some tips to help save money: make sure tires are properly inflated, slow down and make sure vehicles are in good condition.
