NEW YORK (WABC) — It hooked us fast, a political, post-apocalyptic thriller with a plot twist that kept us on the edge of our seats week after week.
Finally, Season 2 of “Paradise” returns and with it comes a bigger cast, bigger stakes and even bigger questions.
Joelle Garguilo: How’s it going?
Sterling K. Brown: Well, Joelle, how you doing?
Joelle Garguilo: So good because I got to finish the second season of this show.
To get you up to speed, last season Sterling K. Brown’s Xavier Collins learned the world outside the bunker looked nothing like what they’d been told.
Joelle Garguilo: I’m having a really hard time figuring out how to talk about this season without giving things away.
Julianne Nicholson: There are a lot of questions, a lot of head-scratching.
Krys Marshall: Who’s going to be president? Who’s going to run the bunker?
Julianne Nicholson: We get a real peek into the world outside the bunker, what that experience has been like for those living outside.
Joelle Garguilo: Nicole, your character, we get to see some of her backstory.
Nicole Brydon Bloom: There’s always a twist and a turn with her.
Sarah Shahi: I’ve been wanting Gabriella to get her hands dirty. In the latter half of the season, I get that opportunity.
Krys Marshall: Also, will Xavier find his wife?
It’s in trying to do that where Xavier meets Annie, played by Shailene Woodley.
Shailene Woodley: We really went through something together. I felt held and safe because I had a friend.
Joelle Garguilo: There’s a line in one of the early episodes where the characters talk about what they miss about life before, and what they don’t. Sterling, what do you miss about before?
Sterling K. Brown: Anonymity. I love people-watching, and it’s a little bit harder to watch people when people are watching you. I used to love sitting at a New York City open-air restaurant during the summer, just watching people walk by, wondering what they’re going through. I can still do it, but every once in a while somebody looks up and goes, “Oh my God.” And I’m like, caught.
We would tell you more, but we don’t want to give too much away. So we’ll just say: get ready for more flashbacks, origin stories and drama to look forward to.
The first three episodes of “Paradise” season two are streaming now on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. New episodes will drop weekly on Mondays.
The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
