FAR ROCKAWAY, Queens (WABC) — Three people were rescued by helicopter after falling through ice in Queens on Friday.
FDNY officials say they received a report around 4:15 p.m. of multiple people in the water at 13-10 Norton Dr. in Far Rockaway.
Authorities say three people, described as 22-year-old men, walked onto the ice covering Jamaica Bay and fell in. All three victims were rescued by NYPD helicopter.
Citizen App video shows at least one of the victims being lifted off the ice.
Two of the victims went to Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside, and one went to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway. All three are conscious and alert.
FDNY fire and EMS, and the NYPD operating at the scene.
No further details have been provided so far.
