THE BRONX (WABC) — A Bronx basketball coach is under arrest and charged with raping one of his students.
Jayvone Johnson, 34, previously taught gym and coached basketball at Icahn Charter School 2 in the Bronx.
He is charged with raping a 14-year-old female student on Monday, December 23, 2024.
He is no longer employed by the school.
The Bronx Special Victim’s Squad arrested him on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
The NYPD released his picture to encourage other possible victims to come forward.
The NYPD is asking any other victims to calling the NYPD’s Sex Crimes Hotline at 1-212-267-RAPE (7273), the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
