NEW DORP, Staten Island (WABC) — A man appears to have been killed by a pit bull on Staten Island.
The victim was a 59-year-old found dead inside a home on New Dorp Lane in New Dorp around 4 p.m. Sunday.
Police say the man had wounds all over his body consistent with dog bites.
He was pronounced dead at the home. He did not appear to live there.
It is unclear if the man was the dog’s owner.
Police had previously responded to the home, where multiple people apparently live — although the nature of those calls were not immediately known.
The ASPCA took the animal into custody.
Police are now determining who owned the dog and if there is any criminality
