Man mauled to death by pit bull inside home on Staten Island

NEW DORP, Staten Island (WABC) — A man was killed by a pit bull on Staten Island.

The victim was a 59-year-old found dead inside a home on New Dorp Lane in New Dorp around 4 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the man had wounds all over his body consistent with dog bites.

It is unclear if the man was the dog’s owner.

The ASPCA took the animal into custody.
