MORRIS HEIGHTS, Bronx (WABC) — A section of the wall of a four-story vacant structure collapsed in the Bronx on Monday afternoon.
About 200-foot section of wall from a one-story building with two commercial units at 57 East Burnside Ave. and Walton Avenue in Morris Heights collapsed on scaffolding and crashed down onto the street.
No injuries were reported.
The Department of Buildings will investigate the cause of the collapse.
Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson said she is aware of the collapse, and is asking people to avoid the area of East Burnside and Walton avenues when traveling. She says street closures are in effect.
Few other details were released.
