A child who was hospitalized after a crash on Staten Island last week died on Sunday, police said.
Six-year-old Anheli Vasquez-Trinidad was critically injured Friday when the car she was riding in collided with an SUV at the intersection of Rockland Avenue and Forest Hill Road just before 10 a.m., according to the NYPD. She died from her injuries two days later, officials said.
Police said the Honda she was in had two other passengers: a 70-year-old woman who remained in critical but stable condition and a 90-year-old man who was also killed. The 50-year-old driver of the other vehicle, an Audi Q5, was taken to the hospital in stable condition, authorities said.
According to police, the crash occurred when the Audi was heading west on Rockland Avenue and attempted to turn left onto Forest Hill Road, crossing in front of the Honda.
No arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon.
The NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.
