Would-be auto thieves target luxury cars in Hell’s Kitchen, crash car into pole

HELL’S KITCHEN, Manhattan (WABC) — Police are on the hunt for some would-be auto thieves in Manhattan with a taste for luxury cars – foiled in their attempt to steal them from a garage.

One thief did not get far on Sunday morning after crashing a McLaren sport car into a pole.

A number of other cars were damaged in the attempted heist on West 43rd Street.

The McLaren’s owner, who does not wan to be identified said he was shocked to find his car smashed.

Police say the would-be thieves got away in a luxury car of their own and they are still on the loose.
