QUEENS, New York (WABC) — NYPD officers shot a dog that was attacking a victim in Queens on Monday night, according to officials.
Citizen App video shows several patrol cars at the scene at 414 Beach 58th St. in Far Rockaway.
Police responded to call for a dangerous animal at the location around 9 p.m.
When officers arrived, they discovered a pit bull biting a female victim. They then fired their weapon and struck the dog.
Officials say the victim suffered a laceration after being bit, and was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.
The pit bull is in critical condition.
