The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of actress Mary Beth Hurt at 79 years old.
Family members say she passed away on Saturday, more than a decade after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
Hurt earned three Tony nominations for her work on stage in “Crimes of the Heart,” “Trelawny of the Wells” and “Benefactors.”
She also appeared on TV and in movies, including “Interiors,” “The World According to Garp” and “The Age of Innocence.”
Hurt, who was once married to actor William Hurt, is survived by her husband, writer-director Paul Schrader, and the couple’s two children.
