BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (WABC) — Police are asking for help identifying a man accused in a hate crime targeting a Brooklyn mosque.
Investigators say on March 9, the suspect threw pagers from the Quran onto the steps of the Islamic Mission of America mosque on 143 State Street and then returned and smeared feces on the door.
The suspect was last seen fleeing eastbound on State Street.
He was last seen wearing a black skullcap, a black facemask, a red sweatshirt, red sweatpants and black sneakers.
The Hate Crimes Task Force is now investigating.
There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
