BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut (WABC) — The man charged with shooting and killing a Connecticut firefighter appeared in court where prosecutors revealed details of an apparent love triangle.
Jabari Bush said little during his arraignment in Bridgeport Superior Court on Monday morning, but the silent message delivered by dozens of city firefighters spoke volumes.
About 60 of Bridgeport’s bravest filled the courthouse to face down the 40-year-old accused of shooting and killing Terrence Cramer inside his Stratford home early Saturday morning.
“We are unified, we are professionals, we will always show up to do our job and we will always stick together and support each other and support the community,” said Bridgeport Fire Dept. Asst. Chief Armando Cora.
The 41-year-old father of two young boys served more than nine years as a city firefighter.
Terrence Cramer was an active-duty Bridgeport Firefighter.
“If you didn’t know him, you wanted to know him, when you got to know him, you wanted to emulate his qualities — his humility, his friendliness, he never did not have a smile on his face,” said Bridgeport Fire Dept. Lt. Christian A. Teague.
According to court papers, Bush entered the apparently unlocked Cramer home shortly before 2 a.m. and found his ex-girlfriend in bed with the firefighter.

Jabari Bush in court on Monday, March 30.
The woman said Jabari shouted “you’re here with another man” and then opened fire on Cramer.
Responding officers found Cramer on the bedroom floor with a gunshot wound to his right thigh.
A paramedic pronounced him dead at the scene.
“It’s sad it’s heart-breaking, when we all got pulled down to the kitchen early in the morning, none of us expect to hear that, let alone about Terrence Cramer,” said Jean-Claude Rasuk with the Bridgeport Fire Department.
Bush was arrested after a chase with police. The judge set his bond at $3 million.
