UPPER EAST SIDE (WABC) — A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a vehicle in an apparent hit and run on the Upper East Side early Friday morning.
The 44-year-old man was struck at Lexington Avenue and East 61st Street by a southbound vehicle just before 4:55 a.m.
He was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition but died from his injuries.
The vehicle was not at the scene when officers arrived.
Police are still investigating.
