Detectives are looking for the deranged man who shoved a straphanger onto the tracks at a Manhattan subway station after the victim refused to give him money, police reported.
According to police sources, the shocking incident unfolded at around 3:44 p.m. on March 14 inside the Dyckman Street station on the A line in Inwood.
Law enforcement sources said the suspect had been walking along the southbound platform asking riders for money when he stopped a 35-year-old man and asked for cash, who refused.
Cops said the perpetrator shoved the victim onto the tracks as he began walking away. The victim managed to pull himself back onto the platform before the next arriving train.
Police reported that the suspect, who wore a black t-shirt and blue pants, fled the station on foot to an unknown location.
The incident was reported to the 34th Precinct and NYPD Transit District 3. EMS rushed the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital with a broken left wrist. He was listed in stable condition.
On Tuesday evening, the NYPD released images and video of the suspect involved in the unprovoked attack.
