Police are investigating the death of a 55-year-old man found unresponsive at a Penn Station subway stop on Saturday evening.
According to the NYPD, shortly before 7 p.m., police responded to a 911 call for an unconscious man on the northbound platform of the 34th Street-Penn Station stop of the C and E trains.
The man was transported to Lenox Hill Hospital in critical condition, police said. He was later declared dead.
Police have not released the man’s identity pending family notification.
Police said they arrested a suspect in connection with the investigation. Authorities said Nassadir Tate, 21, of Hillside, New Jersey, was arrested Sunday afternoon and charged with assault.
Attorney information for Tate was not immediately available.
The NYPD said the investigation remains ongoing.
