BROAD CHANNEL, Queens (WABC) — A human head discovered last week in the Jamaica Wildlife Refuge in Broad Channel, Queens, appears to belong to a Guyanese woman whose torso was found months earlier near Idlewood Park.
That earlier discovery was made on Sept. 23, when two sanitation workers came across the torso while collecting trash in the area.

According to authorities, the torso showed no wounds or visible injuries.
One rib appeared to be broken, but investigators believe the fracture likely occurred when the body was dropped, not as a result of violence.
Police have not released further details as they continue to investigate how the remains ended up in two separate locations.
The Medical Examiner will determine the woman’s cause of death.
