A driver struck and killed a 4-year-old boy on a Brooklyn street on Thursday and fled the scene after the collision, police officials said.
Police said they received a 911 call about the incident at Linden Boulevard and Rockaway Parkway in Brownsville shortly after 11 a.m.
The driver was behind the wheel of a Ford SUV on the boulevard when they hit the child, who was running on the parkway, according to the NYPD.
The driver then drove away, officials said.
The NYPD said the boy was taken to Brookdale University Hospital, adjacent to the crash site, and pronounced dead.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
