LONG ISLAND (WABC) — Two people were using a crosswalk in Amityville, New York when they were struck by an SUV and a Suffolk County Transit bus at the intersection of Broadway and Oak Street on Friday evening.
One pedestrian died and the other was hurt.
Pablo Serrano and Claralee Correa were using a crosswalk when they were struck by an eastbound 2003 Mercury Mountaineer at approximately 8:10 p.m.
The two pedestrians were then struck by an eastbound 2010 Orion Bus, which was also turning left onto Broadway behind the Mercury.
Pablo Serrano, 61, of Woodside, Queens, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Claralee Correa, 45, of Brooklyn, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Neither driver was injured.
The crash is under investigation.
