ELMONT, Long Island (WABC) — An arrest has been made years after a young woman was attacked with acid in Nassau County.
On March 17, 2021, the hooded attacker ran up behind Nafiah Ikram in her own driveway in Elmont and threw acid in her face and then drove away.
Ikram suffered severe injuries in the attack and she still struggles with poor vision in her right eye and scarring on her face.
She has also suffered emotional trauma since the attack.
Nassau County authorities are expected to release more details about the arrest on Tuesday morning.
