NEW YORK (WABC) — As the nurses’ strike enters a fifth week, Mount Sinai says they are in the midst of reviewing a new proposal from the mediator.
“Both parties continued to make progress with the mediator to resolve the outstanding issues at the bargaining table. We have received a mediators proposal and are reviewing it,” Mount Sinai administration said.
The New York State Nurses Association union also said that progress was made on key issues over the weekend.
Nurses at Montefiore nurses won improved staffing ratios in several areas of the hospital, added a safe staffing standard for the first time in an outpatient unit, and also won new nurse positions intended to improve patient safety and wait times.
