Giannis Antetokounmpo’s time with Bucks may soon be coming to an end.
Antetokounmpo is “ready and prepared” to be traded by the Bucks either ahead of the NBA’s Feb. 5 trade deadline or in the offseason, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Wednesday to stoke the already flickering trade rumor flames.
Of course, the reality that Antetokounmpo could soon be playing elsewhere has been brewing for some time. Reports about possible deals intensified this past summer when the Bucks and Knicks had brief discussions about trading for Antetokounmpo, who has made it clear he wants to contend for a second NBA title.
The Bucks tried in recent years to build around Antetokounmpo, and were even able to pair him with Damian Lillard ahead of the 2023-24 season. Then, Lillard tore his Achilles tendon.
