Actor and comedian Jamie Kennedy just plunked down $3.1 million for a modern home in West Hollywood.
The residence, on N Spaulding Avenue, had last asked that same price.
Kennedy is known for his role as Randy Meeks in the “Scream ” series and “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment,” and for dating his “Ghost Whisperer” star Jennifer Love Hewitt many moons ago. He’s from Pennsylvania and has lived in LA for 37 years.
“The last eight have been a little rough. But I don’t leave, I double down,” Kennedy told Gimme Shelter.
Kennedy added, “California has to prioritize the taxpayer. The person in the community who gives back to the economy. Governor Newsom also has to figure out tax incentives that encourage production to stay here.”
“LA needs me and I need LA. It will always be my home. Some of the greatest things that have ever happened for me in life, happened in this town. More people need to stay! We need to save LA and bring it back to the oasis it has always been.”
The listing broker was the Agency’s Mercedes Javid, a reality star of Bravo’s “The Valley: Persian Style” and, in earlier years, “Shahs of Sunset.”
“I’m happy when my client is happy. We negotiated a really good deal for Jamie,” Javid told Gimme. “This deal proves there are a lot of big wins for buyers now. We really knocked it out of the park. It’s a modern build with smart home technology. There’s a lot of equity there.”
Javid also negotiated to have the home’s furnishings and the art thrown in the deal as well. “It was an added bonus,” she added. “He really wasn’t gunning for it. I got him things he didn’t even ask for.”
The four-bedroom, 4.5-bath home is on a quiet street near Melrose. There’s an open-concept layout with pocket doors that lead to a backyard with a pool, a spa and a waterfall. Inside, there’s an open kitchen and a living room with a marble fireplace.
Upstairs, the main bedroom suite comes with a fireplace, a walk-in closet and a spa-like bath. Design details include a floating staircase, wide-plank hardwood floors and multiple balconies.
There’s also a roof deck with panoramic city views.
Along with his current national comedy tour, Kennedy is also seeking to make sure that the air conditioning is on this summer — at affordable rates — so no one has to swelter due to skyrocketing AC costs.
To that end, Kennedy just met with the EPA ‘s Lee Zeldin to ensure that people have access to affordable refrigerants in a historic air conditioning crisis set to cost the U.S. $25 billion.
Meanwhile, Javid shares with Gimme that filing for divorce from her husband Tommy Feight last October has made her even stronger and that their relationship is even more “authentic” now. The couple share a 6-year-old son.
“It’s a feeling that’s hard to describe,” Javid said. “I’m part of the 5 a.m. club. I answer emails after my son goes to bed. I always worked hard, but now, as a single mom, I’m even more motivated. It’s a really good feeling to know that I can do it all.”
“There is something very empowering about what I did, filing for divorce. Going through things that are hard make you stronger. I know that what I am doing isn’t easy but I’m getting inspired by it,” she added.
