NEW JERSEY (WABC) — New Jersey Transit is getting back on track Monday after service disruptions caused by this weekend’s winter storm.
NJ Transit has resumed nearly all of its rail lines, but they are expected to operate on a weekend schedule through Tuesday.
The Gladstone Branch, Pascack Valley Line and Princeton Dinky are still suspended.
Light Rail operations have resumed weekday schedules with potential delays and NJ Transit bus service has resumed 45 of its routes.
Officials say the frigid temperatures wreak havoc on rail infrastructure so they are taking things slowly.

It comes as Gov. Mikie Sherrill announced Monday afternoon that the State of Emergency for the Garden State had been lifted.
“From the minute I was sworn in as governor, my Administration has worked to ready our state for this weekend’s severe weather,” Sherrill said. “I want to thank all the workers across our state who responded to this weather event with urgency and seamless coordination, keeping New Jerseyans safe and warm during the worst storm we’ve seen in a decade.”
The governor also thanked residents who stayed off the roads.
“The worst is over, but we are expecting bitterly cold temperatures throughout the week,” Sherrill said. “Please continue to avoid unnecessary travel and be vigilant about ice.”
Sherrill said that Amtrak, which owns many of the tracks that NJ Transit operates, was working to unfreeze switches and clear snow.
On the other side of the Hudson River, MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber said limited NJ Transit service was impacting trains and buses in the city.
“You know what our biggest problem is? The folks who live in New Jersey who work for us cant get in because NJ Transit is not running, but MTA is running all of our operations and we are very proud of that,” Lieber said.
The snowstorm on Sunday created whiteout conditions and quickly accumulated to more than a foot in some parts of the state.
Road conditions deteriorated rapidly over several hours, prompting Sherrill to declare a state of emergency and urge residents to stay home if possible.
