A Long Island man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly stabbing a woman he knows, stealing her car and then crashing it.
The incident occurred when Frank Redd, 43, of North Bellport, started fighting with the victim, whom he knows, in her car around 3:30 p.m. in Patchogue.
After stabbing her, Redd is accused of taking her car and driving off. He later crashed the vehicle and abandoned it, Suffolk police said.
Police were able to find Redd and take him into custody and short time later. The type of vehicle was not released.
The female victim was hospitalized for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Redd was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault, both felonies, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. He was previously charged for a 2014 stabbing.
