NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — A sergeant at the NYPD sex crimes unit was arrested for allegedly groping a domestic violence victim.
Sgt. Talha Ahmad, 28, allegedly grabbed the woman’s buttocks while responding to a 911 call on Dec. 30.
She had asked him who was there to investigate her claim. He said, “I am the police supervisor.”
He then allegedly squeezed her buttocks.
The 28-year-old sergeant was charged with forcible touching, official misconduct, sexual abuse and harassment.
He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
Sgt. Ahmad was once one of Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams’ Heroes of the Month in April 2021.
Ahmad responded to a family dispute in Crown Heights on Jan. 4 2021 and was confronted by a man with a 13-inch kitchen knife. The man stabbed Ahmad’s partner, but the officer escaped injury because the knife did not penetrate his vest.
Ahmad fired at the advancing suspect, who dropped the knife and was taken into custody. He was not injured.
