Don’t just sit at home! There are plenty of great things to do around New York City this weekend.
Here’s a look at some of the best events happening around town between Jan. 2-4!
Friday, Jan. 2: Comedy and drag!
SHE ATE! The Drag Dinner Experience: Friday night and need a good pregame? Whether it’s that or you’re having a chill weekend but don’t wanna lay on the couch for the entire night – come out to SHE ATE! every Friday night at Branded Saloon in Prospect Heights. Expect production value, comedy, and raw Brooklyn drag while you eat & drink! Branded Saloon, 603 Vanderbilt Ave., Brooklyn. 8 – 10 p.m. Free admission.
UG! Comedy Show: At the legendary One and One Bar every Friday is the UG! Comedy show! Todd Montesi and Chris Wagner and the rest of the UG crew have been running the show for over 14 years and it features NYCs top stand up comedians. One and One, 76 E 1st St., Manhattan. 8:30 – 10 p.m. $10 online; $15 at the door.
Saturday, Jan. 3: Get running!
Woolly Mammoth 5K & 10K: Get ready for a Mammoth good time at the Woolly Mammoth 5K & 10K at Veterans Pier in Brooklyn! This is the FIRST stop of the NYC Parks Winter Series. Choose between the 5K or the 10K and walk away with some sweet snacks from Waterloo Sparkling Water! Veterans Pier, Shore Rd & Bay Ridge Ave., Brooklyn. 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. $44.15.
Dream Of Kings: This holiday favorite uses traditional Latin American Christmas songs to tell us the story of the year in which, rather than following the Star, the Three Magi decided to use GPS. This leads them not to arrive at Bethlehem of Judea, but at the home of Jesús Rodríguez, a kid in the Barrio Belén of Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. Teatro SEA at The Clemente Center, 107 Suffolk St., Manhattan. 3 – 4 p.m. $20.
Sunday, Jan. 4: Boozy sundaes!
The Tortoise & the Hare: This classic fable comes to life as a shadow, rod & hand puppet show adapted by Nicolas Coppola. Puppetworks Inc, 338 Sixth Ave., Brooklyn. 12:30 & 2:30 p.m. $12; $11 child.
Holiday Cheers Boozy Sundae Class: Get into the spirit of the season—literally! You’ll build decadent sundaes inspired by your favorite seasonal cocktails—think “Naughty List” and “Grinchmas Margaritas”—all made with Tipsy Scoop’s signature liquor-infused ice creams. Tipsy Scoop Queens, 38-15 23rd Ave., Queens. 3 – 4 p.m. $49.87.
