WAYNE, New Jersey (WABC) — Police are investigating after a shot was fired inside Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, New Jersey on Tuesday, according to officials.
Wayne Police officers responded after receiving reports that shots had been fired in the food court area of the mall just after 7 p.m.
They determined that some form of physical altercation led to a shot being fired.
Brookfield Properties, who owns the mall, told Eyewitness News that there was an “unfortunate, isolated incident” that took place in the food court.
No injuries were reported.
Wayne Police, who is leading the investigating, say they detained subjects for investigation.
Numerous officers were on the scene Tuesday night, and the situation is stable.
They are asking everyone to avoid the mall at this time.
