TIMES SQUARE, Manhattan (WABC) — Organizers of the Times Square ball drop put the ball’s final pieces in place on Saturday.
There are 5,280 crystals and LED lights – that is nearly double what was in the previous ball.
For the first time ever, there will be circular crystals. Pieces vary in size, with some up to four inches wide.
This year’s ball itself is the largest one ever. It weighs more than 12,000 pounds and is more than 12-feet wide.
The best place to see those numbers light up on Wednesday night is on Channel 7!
Ryan Seacrest and so many more will help count down to the new year.
Watch ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2026′ beginning at 8 p.m.
