Sanitation truck crashes into scaffolding surrounding East Harlem apartment building

EAST HARLEM, New York (WABC) — A garbage truck crashed through scaffolding surrounding an East Harlem apartment building Tuesday morning.

According to police, the driver of the private sanitation truck lost control and careened into the scaffolding on First Avenue at East 101st Street.

The impact of the crash damaged several parked cars.

Two people in the garbage truck were treated for their injuries.

The buildings department responded to evaluate the condition of the apartment.
