At 7:13 p.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service released a special weather statement until 9:15 p.m. for Oneida, Yates, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins, Madison, Cortland, Chenango, Otsego, Tioga, Broome, Delaware and Sullivan counties.
“Much colder air has overspread Northeast Pennsylvania and Central New York. Lingering moisture is still present from the rounds of rain and snow showers today. Any surfaces still wet as temperatures fall into the 20’s into this evening may turn slick from patchy ice. Exercise caution if traveling,” states the weather service.
