On Friday at 3:04 p.m. a special weather statement was issued by the National Weather Service until 5:15 p.m. for Oneida, Cayuga, Onondaga, Chemung, Tompkins, Madison, Cortland, Chenango, Otsego, Tioga, Broome, Delaware and Sullivan counties.
“Much colder air is overspreading Central New York to the Southern Tier and Catskills late this afternoon, with rain changing to snow showers. Any roads still wet as temperatures fall below freezing into early evening may turn slick with patchy ice or snow. Exercise caution if traveling,” states the weather service.
