The National Weather Service issued a report at 7:41 p.m. on Friday for snow showers until 8:30 p.m. for Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga and Cortland counties.
“At 7:40 p.m., a band of heavy snow was over Fleming, or near Auburn moving southeast at 20 MPH,” says the weather service.
Locations impacted by the alert include Auburn, Cortland, Romulus, Fayette, Owasco, Homer, Fleming, Otisco, Skaneateles and Locke.
The weather service states, “Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.
