The Flatiron District just got a little more caffeinated: Nespresso just unveiled its largest flagship boutique worldwide at 85 Fifth Avenue.
Spanning nearly 14,000 square feet across multiple levels, the space feels less like a store and more like a choose-your-own-adventure for the caffeinated. On the ground floor, the “taste and discover” area encourages self-guided sampling, letting visitors explore different blends without the pressure of a line or a pitch. Nearby, a “coffee theatre” hosts rotating masterclasses, offering just enough education to make you feel smarter about what’s in your cup without devolving into homework.

“Our Nespresso New York City flagship is more than a boutique,” said Jason Webber, vice president of sales, Nespresso USA, in an official statement. “As the pinnacle of our retail strategy, it’s the first in North America to bring our vision to life, blending the elements of discovery and experience with a local NYC touch.”
The flagship also features a barista-led coffee bar for any quick caffeine questions, as well as steaming pours and gentle nudges toward new flavors, but the real surprise waits downstairs. There, the Hidden Cup Coffee Bar leans playful and slightly speakeasy, serving exclusive recipes and seasonal zero-proof coffee cocktails.
Elsewhere, the Nespresso Lounge shifts the mood again, inviting guests to sit, sip and linger. Self-service machines are set up to encourage experimentation and a bit of hands-on confidence-building. Upstairs, there’s even a wrapping and engraving station, because if you’re going to buy a machine or a sleeve of capsules, you might as well leave with something that feels personal.
